Niacin Vitamin B3 (Cytoplan)

Niacin (Vitamin B3)

Food State Niacin
100 vegetarian tablets

With Probiotic & Yeast-Free

Cytoplan Food State Niacin is beneficially combined in a probiotic base in which it naturally occurs. The probiotic species used (lactobacillus bulgaricus) is a native inhabitant of the human GI tract.

Cytoplan Food State Niacin contains niacinamide and is free from nicotinic acid, which can cause flushing in some people.

Niacin, a member of the vitamin B complex, is water-soluble. It is more stable than thiamin or riboflavin by being remarkably resistant to heat, light, air, acids and alkalis. There are two forms of niacin. They are niacinamide (nicotinamide) and niacin (nicotinic acid). Niacin acts as a co-enzyme, assisting in the breakdown and utilisation of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Niacin can be made by the body from the amino acid tryptophan. Niacin is effective in improving circulation and normalising blood cholesterol levels. It is vital for the proper activity of the nervous system and for the formation and maintenance of healthy skin, tongue and digestive system tissue. Niacin is necessary for the synthesis of sex hormones.

Best Natural Sources
Lean meats, poultry, fish and peanuts are rich sources of both niacin and tryptophan, as are brewer’s yeast, wheat germ, liver and hijiki, nori and wakame seaweeds. Niacin is difficult to obtain, except in these foods.

Absorption and Storage
Niacin is absorbed in the intestine and is stored primarily in the liver. Any excess is eliminated through the urine. Excessive consumption of sugar and starches will deplete the body’s supply of niacin, as will certain antibiotics.
